NJSMG’s Pumpout Disclaimers

These Disclaimers were created to insure that our field technician(s) and office staff can provide you with a professional septic tank pumpout of the highest quality.  We strongly advise that you read our disclaimers.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES:

1. The Neighborhood Discount Program cannot offer scheduled appointments or appointment windows for service.
2. The Neighborhood Discount Program price is locked-in at 3:00 PM on the business day prior to service.  Any enrollments after 3:00 PM on the day prior to service or on the day of service will not reduce the price.
3. We have the right to reschedule your septic tank pumpout appointment due to equipment failure, rain or snow on the day of service.  You will be contacted and rescheduled.  NJSMG will honor your original discount price.

POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL CHARGES at time of pumping:

1. All price quotes are based on a standard 1,000 gallon septic tank.  Additional pumping, over 1,000 gallons, will be charged at $0.21 per gallon.
2. If NJSMG has to dig to uncover the septic tank lid(s), there will be an additional charge of $25 per 6” increment.  Final dig charge will be verified on location with a depth measurement.
3. If NJSMG has been given customer approval to install a septic tank riser & lid, you will be charged the quoted price given by the office or field technician.
4. NJSMG will not spend more than 15 minutes locating the septic tank lid(s).  If extra time is required, an additional crew can return to the property on a separately scheduled day to locate the tank for an additional charge.  There will be a $75 site-visit fee.  Pumpout appointment will need to be rescheduled.  NJSMG will honor your original discount price.
5. Extra Sludge charge of $75 will apply to any tank that requires extra time/work above the standard appointment due to neglect in pumping or household habits.  These charges are at the discretion of the pumper.

POSSIBLE HOMEOWNER RESPONSIBILITIES that can result in additional charges:

1. If the homeowner has promised to uncover their septic tank lid and on the day of service it has not been fully uncovered or is partially uncovered, NJSMG will not perform the pumpout.  There will be a $75 site-visit fee.  The appointment will need to be rescheduled.  NJSMG will honor your original discount price.
2. If the homeowner has promised to uncover the septic tank lid and has instead uncovered an inspection/access port (4”-12” diameter PVC pipe or concrete port), NJSMG will not perform the pumpout.  There will be a $75 site-visit fee.  The appointment will need to be rescheduled.  NJSMG will honor your original discount price.
3. NJSMG will not provide a service if there is a pet on the property that may interfere with the service.  There will be a $75 site-visit fee.  The appointment will need to be rescheduled.  NJSMG will honor your original discount price.

NJSMG Waivers:

1. NJSMG is not responsible for the overall functioning of the septic system.
2. NJSMG is not required to correct any existing problems of septic system components that are broken or not functioning.  NJSMG can provide an estimate for such repairs as requested by the homeowner.
3. It is not the policy of NJSMG to pump a septic tank through an inspection/access port (4”-12” diameter PVC pipe or concrete port) unless a waiver is signed.
4. If your septic tank has 2 compartments (thus 2 lids), both compartments should be pumped.  It is not the policy of NJSMG to pump only 1 compartment as part of our service unless a waiver is signed by the homeowner. 
5. NJSMG is not responsible for any driveway damage.
6. NJSMG is not responsible for lawn damage.
7. NJSMG is not responsible for any damages to a sprinkler system or invisible pet fence.
8. NJSMG is not responsible for damage done to a deck, pavers or any walkway while gaining access to the tank.  If removal is required, additional charges may apply.
9. NJSMG is not responsible for clearing away or replacing any landscaping (shrubbery and other types of vegetation) that may be covering the septic tank lid(s).  If clearing is requested by customer, additional labor charges are $150 per hour.
10. NJSMG is not responsible for any tree branches broken by our pump truck.  If tree branch trimming is requested by customer so we can reach the tank, additional labor charges are $150 per hour.
11. The 10 Point Check is for informational purposes only.  It is not a septic system inspection report and/or a statement about the actual operation of the system.

PAYMENT & RECEIPT POLICIES:

1. A Credit Card must be provided at the time of making an appointment.  If customer would like to pay by check, they must be home at time of pumping to present the pumper with a check.  If customer is not home to present a check, the credit card taken at time of the appointment will be used for payment.
2. All receipts will be sent from the office after the service has been completed and the invoice processed.
