Installer Apprenticeship Program Outline
STEP 1 - Preliminary Evaluation
A representative from NJSMG and or Eco-Pure must visit the applicant’s place of business and
additionally, observe an installation in progress by the applicant.
STEP 2 - Applicant Attendance is required at two (2) distinct job sites.
Attend Certification Session #1: Applicant must be present for a 2-day, on-site seminar during which an installation is in process while accompanied by a Certified Installer as designated by NJSMG.
Attend Certification Session #2: Applicant must be present for a second, 1-day, on-site (different from that attended in Session #1) seminar during which an installation is in process, while accompanied by a Certified Installer, as designated by NJSMG.
STEP 3 - Certificates, Insurances and Agreements
Installer must provide NJSMG with a copy of Insurance Certificate naming NJSMG as “Additional Insured”.
Installer must have obtained an NEHA Certificate and provided NJSMG with a copy thereof.
Installer must sign agreement with NJSMG on proper operating procedures:
- Five year workmanship warranty.
- Contractor is responsible for all settling of soil.
- Call back policy.
- Upon 3 month and 12 month inspection, contractor is responsible for any recommended grading and other septic related issues that may be affecting the operation of the system.
All Installers must sign an Installer Business Agreement stating they will install all Eco-Pure systems to the standards and codes of Eco-Pure, New Jersey Septic Management, the NJDEP and all county and local health departments.
When working with Eco-Pure Wastewater Systems, all installers must agree to work only with licensed, professional Certified Eco-Pure Engineers.
All Installers must agree to work with properly authorized and or licensed professionals where applicable. (electricians, plumbers, etc.)
Upon meeting all previous requirements (Steps 1 and 2), applicant will be notified by NJMSG that they have attained “Probationary Status” as a Certified Installer. NJSMG will also notify the NJDEP & local Health Departments as to the Probationary Status of the applicant.
STEP 4 - Probationary Period

- NJSMG must be notified prior to installation to schedule a site visit to oversee installation.
- NJSMG rep will be on-site for installation when appropriate and will remain as needed.
- NJSMG will oversee the setting of the peat moss biofilter unit and installation of the peat.

- NJSMG must be notified prior to installation to schedule a site visit to oversee the installation.
- NJSMG must be notified prior to the local final inspection to review installation.
Note: NJSMG may waive or make changes to the standards of qualifications for certification as may be appropriate, at their discretion.
Certification
Upon completion of certification classes, NJSMG will notify the NJDEP that the Installer has met all requirements and is in good standings with NJSMG and is a Certified Installer and will be issued an
“Eco-Pure Certified Installer Certificate”
Maintaining Certification
- Once certified, an Installer must maintain their National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) certification through the appropriately recognized annual process and provide NJSMG with a copy of this annual renewal certificate.
- Upon Certification, installer shall have the right, upon prior approval from NJSMG, to promote Eco-Pure.
- Installer must provide an annually updated insurance policy naming NJSMG as “Additionally Insured”.
